1. Download the Adobe Air installer file, just click the link:
http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/lin/download/1.5/AdobeAIRInstaller.bin
2. Save the file in the Home folder /home/your username
3. Open a terminal and run this command (just cut and paste them in):
$ chmod +x AdobeAIRInstaller.bin
4. Now run this command:
$ sudo ./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin

This is a Ubuntu (Intrepid specific?) issue it seems, and may be linked to Compiz.
Regardless, I found this to be a fix for the problem:
Press F11 twice to make the window normal size

Nothing would work for me , absolutely nothing, to get the Debian menu to appear! Im running LinuxMint 5 (An interesting take on Debian/Ubuntu Linux), but I dont think that was the issue, I think I remember it being a toytal shit to make work in a plain Gutsy install I had a while back.
