As you can guess probably from the below posts, I have been listening to a fair bit of metal of late, Also some “punk” stuff (All this new (and re-released) Darkthrone has set me off i think…). Something I haven’t really done much of for a while. its great to get back and listen to the “classics” again, and find a whole bunch of (old) new stuff out there…
Sextrash – Sexual Carnage. Fuck, what can I say, This shit burns your face off with a dirty black flame. DD Crazy (drums) left Sarcofago to join this band. This shits is great, perverted metal. Night Pigs is my standout track with + points for its synth intro.
Mercyful Fate – Melissa , Great album. A classic band I have really never gotten into, the music is a blast. King Diamonds vocals are certainly their own thing. Black Funeral and Curse of the Pharaohs would have to be my faves from this album.
Wehrmacht – Biermacht. US Thrash madness from the 80′s. Social commentary and rock band party crazyness. Full on thrash and beer! The title track would have to be my #1 choice here as it rocks and pretty much sums up the whole album.
Manila Road – Deluge. Rather grand stuff with the soaring vocals that seem to come with this kind of music. Its an interesting trip and is definitely old metal to the bone. Track choice: Friction in Mass.
Terveet Kadet – Aareton Joulu. I remember Impaled Nazarene mentioning this band , and i guess you can here the influence, Dirty, crusty, Finnish punk. Outo Maa is my choice here.
