Debian Menu In Ubuntu

Nothing would work for me , absolutely nothing, to get the Debian menu to appear! Im running LinuxMint 5 (An interesting take on Debian/Ubuntu Linux), but I dont think that was the issue, I think I remember it being a toytal shit to make work in a plain Gutsy install I had a while back.

Any way, I did the below (Im sure I had done this, maybe just something similar, before with no success) and now its there in my Applications menu where it should be.

Heres what worked eventually:

In the shell of your choice run these commands:

sudo apt-get install menu

Then:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure menu
sudo dpkg-reconfigure menu-xdg

Then Reset the desktop panels with:

killall gnome-panel

It works for me!
